ESO Stipend Program
ESO- Education and Solidarity Organisation has had its formal organisational structure in 2010 and specified its vision, mission, and values. Immediately after that ESO started to initiate different projects, among them Stipend program is the most remarkable and consistent one.
Currently total 19 students are receiving stipend from ESO. Almost half of them are from the renowned residential school, Bharateswari Homes, the rest are from different schools located different area of the country. ESO has set up some specific conditions in giving the stipend to ensure the students in actual need receive it.
The first four years i.e. from 2011 to 2014, ESO provided stipend for 4 students for Tk. 1.44 lac each year in a very consistent manner. In 2015, ESO continued its regular stipend for 4 students for the same amount Tk. 1.44 lac, and this the organisation also arranged an additional one-off fund for Tk. 2.50 lac for 2 more students. In 2016, the amount was increased a bit, Tk. 1.60 lac for the same number of students. In 2017 and 2018, ESO arranged stipend for 5 students for Tk. 2.52 lac each year. In 2019, the number two more students were added, and the stipend was for Tk. 3.07 lac for 7 students. By next year, in 2020 the number of students has doubled, and the stipend amount was Tk. 4.62 lac for 15 students. In 2021, it was Tk. 6.75 lac for 14 students.
In 2022, it was Tk.7.34 Lac for 19 students. This year, 2023 ESO sets out a budget for Tk. 7.50 lac for the ongoing students who are under the stipend program.
ESO Success Story
Among the awardees 1 has been studying in Kumudini Medical College (3rd year)
1 has completed diploma in Computer Science and entered in Job life,
1 has admitted in accounting honors at LamatiaMohila College, Dhaka.
1 has just completed higher secondary school successfully
Currently 17 students are getting the education grant.
ESO is striving to help more and more students under the stipend program.
Source of fund: 50% fund from regular members subscriptions and 100% utilization of Zakat fund.
